Junior SW Engineer in Test

The National Bank of Greece , one of the largest financial groups in Greece-and career partner of PLG Disrupt Summit 2021 -is looking for a Junior SW Engineer in Test. The team is looking for a Software Engineer in Test who will be working on functional API and UI driven testing both with manual and automation techniques. In this role, one will work very closely with development, business analysis and
solution architects’ teams to deliver high quality solution.

It is seeking software professionals interested in Linux technologies, scripting languages and general programming knowledge. As a member of the Quality Assurance (QA) team, the Software Engineer in Test will be responsible for ensuring quality
throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and performing systematic software testing to ensure flawless
delivery. The candidate will be responsible for writing and executing manual and automation test plans and test cases for
all applicable test levels, reporting and tracking defect resolution. The chosen candidate will be involved in the full SDLC
from requirement reviews to release, and will document deliverable artifacts collaborating with Software Engineers,
Release Managers and product stakeholders.


  • End to end ownership of the application lifecycle (concept, design, test, release, support)
  • Develop, debug, and maintain both manual and automated test scripts and test cases
  • Maintain manual and automated smoke/regression tests and create new feature test cases
  • Report defects for code errors that are found during test runs
  • Generate reports that reflect quality metrics and KPIs from manual and automated test runs
  • Identifying and removing risks to quality for bank’s software applications
  • Contributing to a Scrum team that solves complex challenges and builds working software
  • Identifying and resolving software inconsistencies, ambiguities and defects during the design and implementation phase of software building
  • Carrying out root cause analysis on defects to ensure fixes are happening in the right way
  • Ensuring proper communication on risks to quality
  • Adhering to standard operating procedures and the collection of measures put in place to ensure consistency and improvement in the way we test software
  • Contributing to the planning process to establish tasks and forecast work to be performed Asking the right questions at the right time to reduce quality risk


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or relevant-Required.
  • Prior working experience in a relevant position – Required
  • Understanding of web technologies – Required
  • Skills will be considered as a plus:
    • Familiarization with scripting programming knowledge (e.g. JS, Python)
    • System administration knowledge of OS platforms, especially Linux
    • Familiarization with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) models,
    • Familiarization with Atlassian Jira
    • Familiarization with APIs
    • Familiarization with Cloud technologies and principles
    • Keen in applying the Quality Assurance processes during the software development life cycle
    • Quality Assurance certifications,
  • Languages – Required: English: Fluently (C1 Level)
  • Personal skills:
    • Team player with excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
    • Ability to meet deadlines
    • Troubleshooting capabilities and ability to handle pressure
    • Effective communication and teamwork skill.
